Valerie is a Software Engineer with a background in operations & product management across e-commerce and online learning. Prior to joining The Trojman Corporation, Valerie was building Mind Your Business, an education & professional development destination for content creators.

Her love for the education & information space comes from over 25 years of attending library conferences and events with her father, Salvy, and spending time with passionate librarians and educators across Canada.

Valerie is here to support our library partners, educators and publishers on our shared mission of bringing important and valuable content & solutions to Canadian libraries, learners and beyond.

Managing Director

In 1989, Salvy worked part-time in the Scott Library during his undergrad years at York University. His manager said to him, “You love information, and you love helping people. You should become a publisher’s rep.” Salvy responded, “What’s a publisher’s rep?” And so, the journey began. After graduation, Salvy accepted a position with R.R. Bowker Publishing. They were converting Books in Print and many other print directories to CD-ROM technology. In 2000, Salvy moved to then Thomson Gale and quickly worked his way up the ranks, becoming a Director within the Digital Archive program in 2006, with progressive roles leading to Canadian Country Manager in 2017. During his twenty-one years at Gale managing the Canadian academic market, Salvy has built tremendous customer relationships (with both faculty and librarians), has become well respected among his industry peers, and has grown his passion for supporting libraries of all types.

The next steps in the journey begin in 2021:

Becoming the next custodian of the Canadian Electronic Library.

The creation of The Trojman Corporation, an agency representing the newest and greatest ePublishers and content services.

And eventually, creating new products and solutions together with librarians!
